The Circle for Children

Letter from our President 

August 2011

Dear Circle Members,

I am honored to be your new President of The Circle for Children and look forward to working with such a caring and dedicated group of women. To ofollow in the footsteps of last year's President Cindy Samples is humbling and I pray she will continue to guide and counsel me as I lead the Circle this coming year.  I have faith that our combined efforts this year will indeed "Make a Difference" for each child we support and will give them hope for a brighter future.

The Circle Board unanimously selected “The Center for Children and Young Adults (CCYA)” as the beneficiary of our fundraising events this year.  The Center operates 3 programs:  Open Gate and Another Chance are emergency shelters. Life Works is a transitional living program.  The children being cared for are all victims of abuse or neglect. The Center's convenient location on Austell Road in Marietta has proven to be a huge asset for our membership, enabling them to participate in activities close to home.  You can find more about CCYA on their website at www.CCYAKids.org. 

In addition to CCYA, the Circle will continue to provide college scholarships for graduates of Tallulah Falls School and other qualifying candidates through our “Linda Gross Memorial Scholarship Fund”, which honors one of our beloved past Presidents. She was a dear friend to many in our organization, and devoted much of her time and energy into all aspects of serving on the Circle for Children Board.

In closing, I would like to thank you for your personal pledge to the Circle for Children.  Your commitment combined with our Officers, Board and all of our valued members will surely "Make a Difference" in lives of the children we support.
